Follow this comprehensive guide to enable location services on Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu, and confirm their status through the DeSpeed Validator extension.
Open Location Settings:
Begin by pressing Windows + I on your keyboard to open the Settings menu. Once the menu is open, navigate to Privacy & Security and select the Location option to access your device's location settings.
2. Turn on Location Services:
In the Location settings, locate the Location Services toggle and turn it On to enable location tracking. This step ensures that your device’s system-level location is activated, allowing the DeSpeed validator chrome extension to access your location data for rewards.
Open Privacy Settings:
Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select System Settings (or System Preferences if you’re using an older macOS version). From there, go to the Privacy & Security section to manage your privacy settings.
2. Enable Location Services:
In the Privacy & Security section, locate Location Services. Toggle the switch labelled Enable Location Services to On to activate location tracking for your Mac system.
3. Grant Location Access to Chrome:
While in the Location Services menu, scroll through the list of applications and find Google Chrome. Ensure that the toggle next to Google Chrome is ticked, allowing it to access your location data seamlessly.
Access Location Settings:
On Ubuntu, launch the Settings application by clicking on the gear icon or searching for it in the application menu. Within Settings, navigate to Privacy and then select Location Services to manage your location permissions.
2. Enable Location Services:
In the Location Services section, turn on the toggle labelled Location Services to enable system-wide location access. This step ensures that your Ubuntu device is ready to share accurate location data with DeSpeed.
By completing these steps on your respective operating system, you’ll ensure that location services are enabled not only for your device but also for the DeSpeed validator extension. Once you’ve enabled location services, verify their status in the DeSpeed Validator Chrome extension.
1. Open the DeSpeed Validator Extension: Click on the DeSpeed validator extension icon located in your Chrome toolbar.
2. Check Location Access Status: The extension will display location status using two blinking indicators:
Green Light: Indicates location access is granted, and the reward multiplier is active.
Red Light: Indicates location access is not granted.
If you see the red blinking light, it means location permissions need to be updated. Follow Step 1 to enable system-level location access. Once corrected, the light should turn green, confirming location permissions are active.
If the DeSpeed validator extension shows a red light or indicates that location access is not granted, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Revisit System-Level Settings: Check the location services settings on your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Ubuntu) and ensure they are active. Refer to the steps in Step 1 for enabling system-level location access.
2. Restart Your System or Browser: After updating location settings, restart your computer or browser to ensure the changes take effect.
3. Update Chrome Browser: Make sure your Chrome browser is updated to the latest version to avoid compatibility issues.
